I am reminded of a song by singer, Tina Turner, What's Love Got To Do With It? when I read John 3:16, --- God loved the World so much that HE gave HIS only Begotten Son.
Do you have any expectations? Well, these are the words that I am dwelling on: Finish, Complete, Accomplish, Fulfill and Achieve and they can produce Results, Benefits, Gain, Fruit and Prize.
Do you feel that you have ever been betrayed? Well I know that I have been one greater than I faced betrayal as well. These are the words that I am dwelling on: Abandoned, Treated Unfairly, Misunderstood and Put-Down.
Why do we criticize others? Why do we choose to punish or be jealous of others? These are the words that I am dwelling on: Penalize, Chastise, Criticize, Ridicule, Whip, Beat and Discipline In Our Own Form.
Let me share a great book that I enjoyed: He Did This Just For You by Max Lucado, a preacher/writer. He's is convinced that Jesus promises are true and that the Easter sunrise will never fade. (http://www.nelsonword.com ISBN 0-8499-1683-6 ) I was reminded that Pride( boasts) and Shame (avoids, hides) was sisters and pride goes before a fall and shame is what keeps you from getting up after the fall.
I was also reminded of Choices: we all make choices and some have eternal consequences. I was reminded of the Cross--universal symbol of Christianity. How many directions can you turn without seeing a Cross? It was revealed to me that Jerusalem was destroyed in AD 70 and again in AD 135.
I was also reminded of the Journey again. My late mother used to tell me: Ann you might as well get prepared because yes, you are going to travel through "Dothan" and your prayer need to be Help Me Make It Through." It was revealed to me to turn to Isaiah 53:6, I John 1:8.
I was also reminded not to think highly of myself and to turn to Ephesians 2:3 and it let me know that "We are children of wrath---it is not that we can't do good--it's that we can't keep from doing bad. We are fastly approaching the time of Passover and Easter Celebration.
The Holy Bible records: before Jesus Christ came to this world, when individuals sinned they had to go find a lamb without blemish, build an altar and ask God (El Shaddai) to forgive their sin through shedding the blood of an innocent animal.
Wickedness has been on this earth for a long time. But mankind's wickedness and sin increased to large proportions. Mankind was lost. Something had to be done. According to the Holy Bible Jesus stepped out of eternity to be born of a human female. He stepped off the highest throne created and came ready for slaughter and to take the sins of the world. Folks, this is heavy: Jesus paid the price for being you murderer, adultery, fornicator, a rapist, thief, every imaginable sin you can possibly think of.
It has been mankind (I will say me, but what about you?) who has cheated on God. We have placed everything from money to drugs and sex above Him.
This is Powerful Love! We say we forgive, but that is not always the case because that deed is in the back of our mind. Yes, I am a weak and fragile creature and I am very sure that you are not. This is what bothers me the most about Easter: it is all about getting a dollar and false stories. All, I see are Easter eggs and bunny rabbits and we wonder what is going on wrong with our schools and younger generation?
The words now that I am dwelling on are: Honest, Genuine, Sincere, Heartfelt, Praise, Compliment, Commend, Congratulate, Applaud and Approve. The scriptures that I am dwelling on are: Matt 16:21, Acts 2: 25 -31; Psalm 16:10; John 20:3-9; Luke 24:13-39; Matthew 26:56, 69-75; Romans 5:24.
