BUSINESS VISION
Where Do You Go From Here?
Has Your Shift/Change Come?

by Bonita M. W. Shelby

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Romans 12:2 (NKJV)

Then the Lord answered me and said: "Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision [is] yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
Habakkuk 2:2-3 (NKJV)

Who’s Out There? What are you doing? Are you moving forward? Are you stuck? Are you out of balance? What does it cost you to be stuck and/or out of balance?

I’ve been thinking about this word shift and how it is being used these days to generally indicate a positive change having occurred. Earlier generations would say, ‘my change has come’. Some of us now say, ‘I had a shift . . . .’ . Also, I had confirmation that my topic was on time just recently while switching channels and I heard Willie Rogers of the Soul Stirrers on the Black Family Channel singing, an old song of theirs, It’s Been a Long Time Coming, But I Know My Change is Gonna Come.

Again, has your shift (change) come? I do know that you cannot make a shift/change come, you have to wait for it to come. There is a time and place for everything. However, you do have to do something differently in order for the shift/change to come. It’s an, if, then or cause and effect process. Sometimes the shift/change is small or minor and at other times it is huge or major. Sometimes a small/minor shift/change will balloon into larger/major shifts/changes. For example, if you begin the process of renewing your mind, then God’s Word says He will reveal to you His perfect will for your life. If there is no mind renewing, then there will be no revelation of your purpose from God. Another example, you must write the business vision down--document it (something happens when you write it down); make it plain-- details and plans; run with it--implement it; wait for it--there is a set time for it to manifest; speak it--you must speak life into it—all of these actions or causes will move the business vision to experience effects--shifts/changes.

The last example I will share. It has been almost a year since I began my Calling All
Entrepreneurial Visionaries (CAEV)
series on www.BlackandChristian.com. Because I was obedient to the Spirit of God to ask, seek and knock (action/cause), He has opened doors; some I expected, others I had no clue that they would open shift/change/effect). I can say that some blessed shifts/changes have come for me as a result of these articles being published here.

This is the 8th article and 8 is the number of new beginnings. It is time for a shift/change
for me and for you. It’s time for us to go to the next level; time for new beginnings.

You must know that these articles were published in order to encourage shifts/changes to
come for the readers, you. I’m on a mission to increase the number and quality of businesses. So, are you just reading these articles or are you reading and doing something different?

FYI, the previously published topics were:

If you have not read the first five CAEV articles or forgot what they said, they are now available in an e-book at www.lulu.com/CAEV. (Oops, another example, I asked the Association of Professionals in Business Management (APBM) to accept these articles as Continuing Professional Education toward my year 2004 annual recertification requirement. They reviewed them and accepted them. Glory be to God!) This is a good time for you to evaluate where you are and start or hopefully continue the process for either a small/minor shift/change or a huge/major shift/change. The act of doing something different than what you have been doing that has not worked is a shift/change in itself and surely will cause other a shifts/changes to occur--expectantly to making daily progress toward your business vision manifesting in its fullness.

If you are stuck or out of balance, then it could be that you have not done what you need
to do in order to begin the process for shifts/changes to occur.

I would like to hear from those of you who are reading and doing something different as well as those who want to do something different but have not been able to for whatever reason.

I’m curious -- What are you doing? What’s your vision? Where is your vision? Who is on your team? What have been the results? Are processes in order? What’s working for you or not working for you? What topics would you like to see addressed in this BUSINESS VISION column?

Contact me via any of the methods indicated below. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

The next topic will be Let’s Get to Walking It Out!
